Privacy Policy
This is the current privacy policy for the Fyr website and related plugin sales.
Last updated 25 October 2026.
Who is responsible
Fyr Plugins is published by Glow Arts, a Danish sole proprietorship with CVR 43068660. Glow Arts is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. For privacy matters, contact support@fyrplugins.com.
What we collect
We may collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, product launch interests, support messages, purchase information, and any details you send when contacting support.
If you connect a Blender install to your account, we also store a record of that connection. That record is described under Licensed downloads and connected installs below.
If you buy a product as a gift, we store the email address entered at checkout with the gift code, so you can sign in and view the code in your account. We do not ask for or collect the recipient's details. The recipient's email address is only processed when they redeem the code while signed in with their own account, and the license is then linked to that account. Your account shows whether and when a code you bought was redeemed, but not who redeemed it.
How we use it
We use that information to provide downloads, respond to support requests, process refunds, communicate about purchases, send requested product launch notifications, and improve the Fyr website and products.
We also use your account and license records to confirm that you are entitled to a download before it starts, and to let a Blender install you have connected download updates for the product you bought.
Legal basis
Fyr processes personal information on the following legal bases under Article 6(1) of the GDPR. Accounts, licenses, purchases, downloads, connected Blender installs, and support are processed to perform a contract with you. Launch and news emails are sent on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in those emails or by contacting Fyr. Server logs and rate limiting at Cloudflare rest on Fyr's legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and preventing abuse. Accounting records of purchases are kept to comply with a legal obligation under Danish bookkeeping law.
Licensed downloads and connected installs
When you are signed in and have an active license, the server checks that license and then issues a download link that expires after 10 minutes. Fyr does not keep a separate download log beyond the standard server logs kept by Cloudflare for hosting.
You can connect a Blender install to your account so the add-on can download updates by itself. For each connected install, Fyr stores a generic device label chosen by the add-on such as "Blender 5.1 on Windows", which covers the Blender version and operating system family only and never a computer name, user name, or hardware identifier. Fyr also stores when the install was connected, when it was last used to check for or download an update, when it was disconnected if it was, the product it was connected for, and a cryptographic hash of the connection token. The token itself is only stored on your own computer, in Blender's configuration folder. These records are held in Supabase in the EU and are linked to your account.
The add-on only contacts fyrplugins.com when you have turned on update checks or when you press Connect or Check Now, and it sends the connection token with update checks. No analytics or tracking is involved, and no providers are used for this beyond Supabase for the database and Cloudflare for hosting. You can see your connected installs on your account page and disconnect any of them at any time, and you can also disconnect from inside Blender.
Launch notifications
If you sign up for launch notifications, your email address is stored with Fyr's email service provider and grouped by the product you asked about. Product launch emails include an unsubscribe option.
Signing up requires clicking a confirmation link sent to the address you entered. That confirmation email is a transactional message, not marketing, and it is the only email an unconfirmed address receives. Until the link is clicked, the address is used only to send that one confirmation email through Fyr's email service provider and is not added to any list. The link expires after 48 hours.
The signup form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that the submission is not automated. Turnstile is used only to protect the form, sets no advertising or analytics cookie, and is not used to profile you across websites.
Children's privacy
Fyr is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided personal information to Fyr without appropriate involvement from a parent or guardian, contact Fyr so the information can be reviewed and deleted where required.
Service providers
Fyr uses service providers to operate the website and email systems, including Cloudflare for hosting, DNS, email routing, and security, Resend for launch notification email lists and email delivery, Supabase for account access, purchase and download records, and connected installs, and Stripe for checkout and payment processing. These are the providers Fyr uses today. Payment method providers you can choose at checkout, such as PayPal or Klarna, are described under Payments below. Fyr does not sell personal data. If a new provider is added, this policy will be updated before it handles any personal data.
Where data is processed
Supabase hosts the database in the EU. Cloudflare, Stripe, and Resend are US-based companies that may process data outside the EU and EEA. Cloudflare provides hosting, DNS, server logs, and rate limiting, Stripe processes payments, and Resend delivers email. If you pay with a wallet, pay later, or bank payment method, that provider may also process the details of that payment outside the EU and EEA under its own safeguards. Where data is processed outside the EU and EEA, the transfer relies on the safeguards in Chapter V of the GDPR, meaning the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, as provided by each provider.
Payments
Checkout runs on a page hosted by Stripe. Card and account details are entered there and are never stored by Fyr. Fyr receives confirmation of the payment, the email address, and the billing details needed for tax and invoices, together with the type of payment method used.
Besides cards, Stripe may offer other payment methods depending on where you are, such as PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link, Revolut Pay, Klarna, Amazon Pay, iDEAL, Bancontact, BLIK, EPS, TWINT, Satispay, Bizum, Pay by Bank, Alipay, and WeChat Pay. If you choose one of them, Stripe shares the details needed for that payment with that provider and, for bank payments, with your bank. Each of those providers processes your data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy, and some, such as Klarna for pay later options, may carry out their own identity or credit checks. Fyr does not receive your login details or account information from these providers.
Fyr sets fixed prices in several currencies, such as euros, pounds, and Danish, Swedish, and Norwegian kroner. Stripe shows the price in your local currency when one is set for it, based on the approximate location of your connection, and in US dollars otherwise. Neither Fyr nor Stripe adds a currency conversion fee to the price you pay. Fyr receives the currency and amount you paid as part of the payment record.
Analytics and technical data
The site may process basic technical information such as browser type, device information, referring pages, and request data needed to run, secure, and troubleshoot the website. Non-essential analytics or tracking tools will only be added after the related privacy and consent requirements are handled.
Technical data such as your IP address, the request path, and your user agent is processed by Cloudflare for security and abuse prevention. These server logs are kept by Cloudflare for a limited period under its own terms.
Cookies and tracking
Fyr does not intentionally use non-essential analytics, advertising pixels, fingerprinting, or cross-site marketing tracking without a consent strategy and policy update. Essential account, checkout, security, and hosting technologies may be used where needed to provide the site and protect purchases.
If you open the site through a creator's referral link (a link ending in ?via= and the creator's handle), the handle is kept in the open page's memory for that visit only. It is not written to a cookie, local storage, or anywhere else on your device, and it is gone when you close or reload the page. If you buy during that visit, the handle is attached to your purchase so Fyr can pay that creator a commission, which is processed on the basis of Fyr's legitimate interest in running its creator program. Creators are not given your name, email address, or other purchase details.
If you enter a creator's discount code at checkout, the code is used in the same way to credit that creator for the sale, and it is stored with your order record. Nothing is stored on your device for this.
Retention
Fyr keeps personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including purchase records, license access, support, refund handling, legal obligations, and abuse prevention. Launch notification contacts are kept until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion.
Records of connected Blender installs are kept while your account exists and are deleted when your account is deleted. Download links expire after 10 minutes.
Invoices and payment records are kept for five years from the end of the financial year, as required by the Danish Bookkeeping Act.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from launch notification emails using the unsubscribe link in those emails. You can also contact Fyr to ask about access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction, portability, or withdrawal of consent for personal information connected to the website, support, purchases, accounts, or launch notifications.
You can disconnect a connected Blender install at any time from your account page or from inside Blender, and you can turn off update checks in the add-on.
If you believe Fyr has handled your personal information incorrectly, you can lodge a complaint with Datatilsynet, the Danish Data Protection Agency, at www.datatilsynet.dk.
